Drivers looking for a bold three-row crossover SUV may be interested in one of the midsize models in this 2019 Honda Pilot vs 2019 Toyota Highlander comparison. Each of them offers generous seating for parents and kids and cutting-edge technology options. But which one is better?
The 2019 Honda Pilot starts out with a more powerful engine than the standard 2019 Toyota Highlander. Its 3.5-liter V-6 offers 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque while the standard 2.7-liter four-cylinder of the 2019 Highlander offers just 185 horsepower and 187 pound-feet of torque. While the Toyota crossover is also available with a more powerful V-6 (rated for 295 horsepower and 263 pound-feet of torque) the 2019 Pilot holds its own and offers value and confident performance whether you choose the base LX trim or opt for the generously-equipped Elite model.

When it comes to safety and practical technology the Honda crossover once again excels in this 2019 Honda Pilot vs 2019 Toyota Highlander comparison. The Pilot has received some subtle upgrades for 2019. Honda Sensing (which bundles features like the Collision Mitigation Braking System, Forward Collision Warning, Road Departure Mitigation, Lane Departure Mitigation, the Lane Keeping Assist System, and Adaptive Cruise Control) is now standard. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be standard, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot is available that can connect up to seven device to the internet.
The 2019 Toyota Highlander will also come standard with features like adaptive cruise control and automatic braking, but it will struggle when it comes to phone connectivity. Limited Toyota models are available with Wi-Fi, and that system only offers connectivity for up to five devices. We are not sure at this time if the 2019 Highlander will offer this feature.
The 2019 Toyota Highlander will be released later in 2018, but the 2019 Honda Pilot is currently available here at Battison Honda in new Pilot inventory. If you have a question, be sure to contact our friendly team here in Oklahoma City OK!
