We’ve already written a little bit about the new technology that was announced with the 2018 Honda Odyssey, but today we want to focus in a little on one unique feature that we think is going to be a hit with parents and kids alike. What Are Magic Slide Seats on the 2018 Honda Odyssey?
The second row seat in the 2018 Honda Odyssey is designed to be easily reconfigured to maximize passenger and cargo space, and allow easy access to the back row even when equipped with rear-facing child seats. There will be four different modes (Easy Access, Super, Wide, and Buddy) each of which is designed to meet unique family needs.
Basically, while the third row and the front seats remain in place, the seats in the middle row can be removed, separated, or adjusted. Whether you want to keep two fighting children far away from each other, or want to be able to reach a child in the second row from the driver’s seat, the Magic Slide seats can make this possible without hassle. Check out some Magic Slide seat configurations in the images below.
How Many People Can Fit in the 2018 Honda Odyssey?
We believe that the 2018 Honda Odyssey will come standard with eight seats (two people in the front bucket seats, and a three-person capacity in each of the other two rows). However, it should be easily configurable for seven-passenger capacity thanks to the Magic Slide seats.
