Oklahoma City Opening Night 2019

This event will offer a little something for everyone, including kids and parents! The Children’s Area in the Civic Center Hall of Mirrors will offer art activities, face painting, child-friendly music, and more. Food will be available to purchase in Finale Alley starting at 7 p.m. Older children and athletic families may even enjoy participating in the Finale 5k that will start from just east of Bicentennial Park. Snacks, live music, and fun will be available before, after and throughout the race. Each 5k participant gets a wristband with the $30 registration fee.

The Opening Night event will close with fireworks at midnight after the Finale Stage concert, which starts at 9 p.m.  Advance wristbands for ages 6 and up are currently available for $8. Cost goes up to $10 on the day.

Myriad Botanical Gardens

The Illuminations: A Northern Lights Experience on the Crystal Bridge show at the Oklahoma City Botanical Gardens will offer a gorgeous light show experience. Cost is $7 for adults, $5 for children (cheaper for members!) and this display will be open 6-11 p.m. on New Years Eve 2018. If you want to go earlier this show is running through more of December.

Science Museum Oklahoma

While we didn’t see any special New Year’s Eve events happening at the Science Museum (yet!) it will for sure be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and might be a good place to bring the family before other festivities get started. Families can also enjoy shows featuring the Planetarium, Explosions, Physics and more. Cost is $15.95 for adults and $12.95 for seniors and children ages 3-12.
