2017 Honda Civic Type R Prototype at SEMA 2016
In addition to being a great place to reveal great new accessories that may be available in the new model year, the SEMA Show is often a place where concept cars make their debut. While the 2017 Honda Civic Type R Prototype already made its first appearance this year in Paris, SEMA 2016 is the first time it will be appearing in the United States.
This new model (that may someday transition into a production model of the Honda Civic) is based on the new Civic Hatchback, but features a more powerful muscular body style and aerodynamic features. It also features the iconic red “H” badge which is standard on Type R models. Other new intriguing features of the 2017 Honda Civic Type R Prototype at SEMA 2016 include:
- Unique aluminum-effect finish
- Front fascia with winged carbon fiber splitter and red accent line
- New centrally-located hood engine air intake
- Smoked lenses for LED front headlights, indicators, and side indicator repeater lights
- Carbon fiber side skirts
- 20-inch black wheels with red accents
- Red-highlighted tailpipe
Other Honda Civic Models at SEMA 2016
The 2017 Honda Civic Type R Prototype is not the only new Honda Civic to make an appearance at SEMA 2016. The all-new 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback, the 2017 Honda Civic Coupe Racing Concept, 2016 SEGA Sonic Civic Sedan, and 2016 Honda Civic Sedan Meguiars Build (Civic X Concept) are just a few of the other vehicles that are a part of this Civicpalooza.
