Last year, the new Honda Ridgeline earned several honors and awards. For the new model year, that same vehicle returns with some enhancement and changes that should make the 2018 Honda Ridgeline even more attractive for those in the market for a new midsize truck. In this 2018 Honda Ridgeline vs 2017 Honda Ridgeline comparison, we are going to look at what’s new on the 2018 Honda Ridgeline, and a few changes for the new model year.
2018 Honda Ridgeline vs 2017 Honda Ridgeline
First of all, many of the features that made the 2017 Honda Ridgeline appealing for truck shoppers will return for the new model year. The Dual Action Tailgate (which opens like a traditional truck tailgate, or opens more like a car door) will return, along with the Ridgeline in-bed trunk. Customers will also still be able to get available features like Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay™ compatibility, in-vehicle navigation, and the Honda Sensing suite of safety features. Both years also come standard with a 3.5-liter V-6 engine rated for 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque.

Streamlined Trim Options
The 2017 Honda Ridgeline was available with 12 trim levels, while the 2018 model will offer just nine. These nine trims should consolidate features and value for Honda shoppers. The trims available on the 2018 Honda Ridgeline will be RT (2WD), Sport (2WD, AWD), RTL (2WD, AWD), RTL-T (2WD, AWD), RTL-W (AWD) and Black Edition (AWD). The RTS trim, which was available with two-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, will not be returning for the new model year.
New Sport Trim Colors
The other change coming on the 2018 Honda Ridgeline compared to the 2017 Honda Ridgeline is the availability of new color options on the Sport trim. White Diamond Pearl and Lunar Silver Metallic will be pointing Crystal Black Pearl on this trim. As far as we know, the rest of the 2018 Honda Ridgeline will keep the same color options (which starts with just Modern Steel and Lunar Silver on the RT, and adds several other options on upper models).

I have the 2006 gold package ridgeline. I love the truck.
I was hoping to see cooled seats on the RTL-E. Nope!!!
I want to get a new ridgeline. I have a hard time pay 14,000 more for the upper line ridgeline when it’s the same truck just more options. That’s a lot of money for options! I hope the 2018 have cooled seats….. If not how can I get that option? That and them not willing to come off the sticker price is what’s keeping me from having one right now.
My father retired from Ford Motors. I can get an F150 FOR 5,500 BELOW INVOICE! ! I WOULD RATHER HAVE A HONDA!!!!!
