2018 Honda Accord vs 2017 Honda Accord

From styling changes, to body and chassis improvements, to powertrain and technology upgrades, there are some significant new features on the 2018 Honda Accord. One of the first things drivers will notice are new dynamic design cues including a revised, chrome wing front grille placed over a large air intake. Another attractive styling change is an extremely smooth join between the dramatically arched roof and the rest of the structure.

2018 Engine Upgrades

While style changes may be the first thing car shoppers will see, engine changes may make a significant impact on buyers. The 2018 Honda Accord will available with three new powertrains, most of which offer more engine output. A new 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine will replace the 2017 Accord’s 2.4-liter engine. It will offer 7 more horsepower and 11 more pound-feet of torque than came standard on the previous model.

The 3.5-liter V-6 that was the advanced engine option on the 2017 Accord will be replaced by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that offers 252 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. While this is a decrease in horsepower compared to the previous powertrain, it represents an increase in torque. We are hoping that both these models will also offer increased efficiency.
